It’s been so long since I made it…But I would probably leave each layer in the fridge for at least a couple of hours to set properly.

May I noe how long does it take for each layer to coagulate?my milk layer takes up to 20mins but is still in liquid form.

Hi, I made this and worked perfectly except my milk layer was more yellow. any ideas or suggestions. i also didn’t put in the lemon juice, what is its purpose?

Kathryn, Thanks for your reply. I had to laugh though as the word that I did not know was the word “bench.” When you wrote that it should have been on the bench then I figured it must mean what we call a counter. A bench to us is something you sit on, like at a picnic table you sit on the picnic bench. You have to love languages. Makes me smile. Thanks for the reply. Keep posting…

Sorry! I’ll have to change that, it’s meant to say ‘ON the bench’…… basically, I just didn’t put it in the fridge so that it wouldn’t set.
You probably could put it in the fridge to cool down, but I know that I would forget about it!

This is going to be a silly question. But what does it mean to allow it to sit “in the bench” Not sure..I can guess, but it would probably be wrong. Your jelly cake looks fabulous and I think it would be fun to make. Enjoy your blogs very much.
