Our beliefs…

We are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, commonly known as ‘Mormons’
Essentially our belief is simple, and yet it’s so much more than can be put into words. Perhaps if you want to understand our basic beliefs a little more you should visit the website mormon.org as I’m sure it will answer basic questions much better than we can, but we also would love to answer your questions!
The gospel of Jesus Christ brings us great peace and joy. It gives us a sense of belonging and yet it always encourages us to change, grow and be better today than we were yesterday, and better tomorrow than we are today.
Central to our beliefs is the essential and eternal role of families. A stated in The Family: A Proclamation to the World, we believe that marraige between a man and woman is essential to his plan. Children are entitled to birth within the bonds of matrimony, anything short of that is so much more likely to bring disappointment and heartache. We understand that the Mother and Father have separate and distinct roles within the family.
“By divine design, fathers are to preside over their families in love and righteousness and are responsible to provide the necessities of life and protection for their families. Mothers are primarily responsible for the nurture of their children. In these sacred responsibilities, fathers and mothers are obligated to help one another as equal partners”
There is so much more to say about our beliefs, and as time goes on I’m sure we will add more to this page, but if you have any questions about our beliefs we would love you to ask us!
